HTML reference
Using tables to do layout
I'll do it this way this year because it is easier than the pure css approach. My students will have more control over the page using table layout.

cyber bullying article
Some students shared their experiences of being bullied either by SMS messages or in one case identify theft - taking over an email account and then sending out messages to the victim's friends.
I asked for a show of hands about whether bullying was worse offline or online and the majority said it was worse offline
I asked students to say what they had learnt from reading the article and to recount some of the experiences told to the class.
I also asked them to address a couple of questions:
- Is it easier to be anonymous online than offline?
- Is bullying more of a problem in cyber space or face to face?
my HW upset
I talked politely about this to the students, seeking individual responses. Some said that they had heavy commitments in other subjects and also work commitments. Others said they had difficulty with blogger access, ie. logging on or no access at home. Some looked a bit embarrassed and others just said "too bad".
One thing that emerged was that other teachers set a clear deadline for HW and that since I had not done that some students had put that other HW first, ahead of mine.
So, I asked them again to do it and have just marked it then. Now I have 10 students out of 21 have made a reasonable effort.
It's not quite as bad as it looks because I do have a group of students in the class who are new arrivals from African countries who seem to have never used computers before arriving in Australia maybe 2 or 3 years ago. When I go through the list I think there are only 2 0r 3 there who simply chose not to do the HW, after a bit of nagging from me.
